Life is confusing. Life is filled with questions and trials. Sometimes Life squeezes you into a little box, lid sealed and locked, and you don’t know who holds the key. Life isn’t supposed to be this way, is it? Who knows the Meaning of Life? Does anyone have answers for Life’s BIGGEST questions?
- Who am I?
- Why am I here?
- Isn’t there more to life?
I asked the first two questions as a shy, pre-teen girl growing up in a dysfunctional home–like most of us did. Those answers eluded me most of my life. Maybe they’re eluding you.
The third question, “Isn’t there more to life?” I asked from my teen years through my fifth decade. During those years, I felt isolated, trapped, and victimized. My experiences just didn’t fit right for how I thought “Life should be.” What about you?
“Life is what happens to you when you were on your way to something else.”Valerie J. Brown, circa 1998
It’s my life that means something!
Deep thinkers want to know “The Meaning of Life.” I just needed to know, “Does my life mean something?” Are you asking that question?
The Giver of Life, who fashioned us in the womb, wants us to know that our lives do have meaning.

Verses like those below tell us that we can legitimately hope for more.
My Creator has plans for me.
“‘For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.'”Jeremiah 29:11
Jesus came to give me Abundant Life
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].Jesus, John 10:10
Life Infinitely Beyond…a legitimate Hope for More
“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”Ephesians 3:20, 21
These words are promises that we can receive and apply to life circumstances. And there are more!
